I believe the proper role of our government is to provide for the people only the critical functions that can't be performed by individuals or private organizations...and that the best government is the one that governs the least.

I just happen to believe that neither the people of this country, or any private organization within it, can handle a significant amount of these functions at the moment.

It makes being a conservative difficult at times to have ideals based on solid logic and results when those ideals don't jive with lazy Americans and their indifferent approach to life.
