Gnarles Barkley...

If you have no idea what this is, lemme clue you in. This is the 2006 MTV Music Awards performance that has everyone going bonkers. The song is titled "Crazy" and it has this fantastic motown feel to it. DJ Dangermouse and Cee-Lo Green (Darth Vader) have collaborated and whipped out a kickass album under the name Gnarles Barkley. Cee-Lo's been on the radar a little longer for some people, but you might know DJ Dangermouse from producing the latest multi-platinum Gorillaz album.

It's well established that they're some of the most "out there" guys in hip hop for sure, but they also represent this new trend that I really dig. Lots of soul, and quality lyrics...with a shitload of boogie tossed in for good measure. It's like everything cool about Parliament Funkadelic, but with some Black Eyed Peas, Outkast, and a little Lionel Richie in the mix.

Oh, and the wookie on drums is the shit.
